Sun Pat Peanuts

Back in the day, these nutty treats were a staple of Everest’s popular Christmas hamper. We’ve not seen these in years though. Maybe we were the only ones buying them...

2017

Fortnum and Mason Dark Chocolate & Orange Biscuits.

While the hamper’s still a firm favourite, we’ve since swapped peanuts for F&M’s finest luxury chocolate biscuits. Warning: may still contain nuts.

1975

Peugeot 204

These small, fuel-efficient, diesel saloons were all the rage in the mid-70s; the perfect reward for Everest’s top sale performers back in the day.

2017

Mini Cooper

Although Minis were around back in the 70s, they weren’t as stylish as they are now. Which is why they’re 2017’s top sales prize.

1977

Holiday in Bognor Regis

Two weeks on the Costa Del Geriatric was about as exotic as holidays got for most families 40 years ago: back when Bernie Inns were the height of sophistication.

2017

Holiday in Bermuda

It doesn’t get more exotic than this. Our high-achieving sales teams trade double glazing in Dunstable for pina coladas in the tropics if they hit their targets!

A Brief History

Built on traditional family values

1965

Firm Founded

Lewis Golden

Former Encyclopedia salesman David Kingsley, along with accountant Lewis Golden, and lawyer brothers Sidney and Josh Manches started the company in 1965 as Home Insulation Ltd (a name that didn’t last…). They wanted their new business to treat staff like family members and began by giving them two weeks holiday every year, which back then was pretty much unheard of!

1968

The Christmas Hamper

It all began with a jar of peanuts... Back in 1968, the management team introduced the first in what would become Everest’s staff benefits. While tastes have changed and the perks are now more varied, this simple, genuine, gesture was proof that Everest cared -- a value that continues today.

1972

Ted Moult

Talks Rot

Back when celebrities had a little more gravitas (!), former farmer Ted Moult fronted Everest’s first ever TV advertising campaign. Ted’s well-known line ‘Fit the best. Fit Everest’ helped our brand become a household name across Britain.

1984

Introducing...

uPVC

Aluminium frames were out, and in came uPVC windows: ready for a new wave of upwardly mobile homeowners during the boom years of the 80s.

2000

Ted 2.0

After a lengthy search for the right brand ambassador, Irish TV presenter Craig Doyle joined Everest; remaking Ted’s famous adverts for a new generation.

2005

Simply ‘The Best’

The Advertising Standards Authority took issue with Everest’s iconic slogan… until a ruling determined that our products were indeed the best available.

Makes Its Debut

We were the first UK company to offer triple glazing in 2014; an innovation that continues to be popular as energy efficiency becomes a key concern.
